Sahasrara - The Crown Chakra
Sahasrara is the Crown Chakra or the 7th Chakra located at the top of the head, hence the “Crown” chakra. It is associated with unity with the Divine, universal consciousness, understanding and enlightenment. It is said to influence perfection integration, wisdom and purpose. In a word, the Crown Chakra is about Divine Bliss…well, in two words! The verb attached to Sahasrara is ‘know’, as in “I Know”…a higher power, enlightenment, bliss etc. This is the knowing tied to faith.
Violet and white are the color vibrations related to the Crown Chakra with Amethyst, Clear Quartz, Diamond, Selenite, Kundalini Quartz and Herkimer Diamond influencing the energy of Sahasrara. The Crown Chakra is tied to the element of Thought and the herbs Garlic and Peppermint. Although technically spices, Clove and Cinnamon both influence Sahasrara.
The Crown Chakra connects to our sense of smell and responds to Rose, Pine, Frankincense, Neroli and Peppermint. The Mantra connected to Sahasrara is OM and is sometimes chanted at the B tone during meditation. It is also vocalized as “ohm’ and is the most common Mantra tied to energy medicine, meditation and yoga. Physically, the Crown Chakra is connected to the cerebrum, right brain hemisphere, right eye and central nervous system.
